The DOST-SEI offers two scholarship programs, which are the Republic Act 7687 otherwise known as the Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994 and the Merit Scholarship Program.

The R.A. 7687 is open to poor, talented and deserving students while the Merit Scholarships Program is for qualified applicants whose families’ socio-economic status exceeds the indicator.
The applicants must be a senior high school student belonging to the upper five percent of the graduating class and natural-born Filipino citizens of good moral character and must not be applying for resident or immigration status in any country.

Application forms and scholarship brochures can be obtained at the DOST regional office at DMC Compound, Davao City; and at the Provincial Science and Technology Centers in USEP Apokon, Tagum City; NICO Bldg., Nabunturan City; Lim St., Digos City; and, Sto. Niño St., Mati City.  It can also be downloaded through http://science-scholarships.ph.  Deadline for filing of application is on August 22, 2014. Examination date is on September 21, 2014. Online reviewer is also available at www.dostseireviewer.org.

Qualified applicants are given opportunities to pursue four-or five-year baccalaureate degrees in priority science and technology fields in geology, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, statistics, computer science, food technology, robotics, mechanical engineering, among others.
