The Malaysia Halal Consultancy and Training (MHCT) Agency conferred another ‘Excellence Award’ to the Department of Science and Technology XI (DOST XI) Halal Verification Laboratory (HVL) after an extensive surveillance audit following the International Accreditation given last July 2022. 

After a thorough review of the lab’s services and operations, Dr. Jane Tranquilan, Certified Halal Lead Auditor of MHCT Agency, awarded the laboratory an Excellence Award with 98 points which is an increase from the 95 points in the previous audit. 

“I hope this will be a motivational tool for your team to move forward and continue the good work for the Halal industry,” said Dr. Rafek Saleh, Principal Halal Consultant and Executive Director of MHCT Agency. 

DOST XI Regional Director Dr. Anthony Sales through Assistant Regional Director Dr. Kenneth Barroga commended the Halal Laboratory personnel for their strong dedication to delivering exemplary Halal services to the people. 

“This shows our commitment to the Halal program in the country. We are motivated to carry out the needed improvement so we can achieve the 100 percent rating in the next audit,” he added. 

The DOST XI HVL was bestowed the Excellence Award for Halal and Hygiene Compliance after a compliance audit last July 8, 2022.
