Aimed to provide high-quality yet affordable printed materials, the Food Processing and Innovation Center (FPIC-Davao) underwent a two-day training on their new large-format printer and cutting plotter last January 26-27.

Almuhaimen Pakong, Field Service Engineer of E.S. Print Industries Inc., showed to the project staff of FPIC-Davao and marketing staff of Philippine Women’s College (PWC Davao) how to use their Creons iPlus Large-Format Printer and Creons Cutting Plotter.

The units were deployed to FPIC-Davao last December 20, 2022 under the DTI XI's project "One Town, One Product (OTOP) Packaging and Labeling Facility for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Davao Region” worth Php 915,000.00.

“Before the deployment of these equipment naga-outsource lang din po kami, which is mahal talaga kasi may minimum order quantity required, (Before the deployment of these equipment, we just outsource, which is expensive because there is a minimum order quantity required,)” explained Donnalyn Faizah Imbas, a Senior Science Research Specialist in FPIC-Davao.

Thea Marie Nebria, a marketing staff in PWC, said “[The training] is quite helpful since I’m not quite familiar with this technology. It’s very interesting since it could help FPIC especially for the printing of their product [labels], designs and what not.”
