The City Council of Davao has passed a resolution congratulating the Department of Science and Technology XI (DOST XI) for being a Gold Trailblazer Awardee in the Performance Governance System (PGS) Compliance Stage framework of the Institute for Solidary in Asia.
The Gold Trailblazer award is the highest recognition in the 4-stage pathway of the PGS and was conferred by ISA to DOST XI last December 9, 2022.
PGS is a holistic and collaborative framework for designing and executing roadmaps to long-term reform. This framework is now used by over 100 national government agencies and local government units in the Philippines.
The resolution highlighted DOST Davao as the first PGS Awardee in the DOST system and was also awarded the Gold Trailblazer Award in the Initiation Stage of the same framework.
The said resolution was filed by the First District Council Representative and Chair of the Committee on Education, Science, and Technology, Arts and Culture, Hon. Pilar Braga, and was unanimously adopted by the Members of the Sanggunian during the 24th Regular Session.
DOST XI Regional Director Dr. Anthony Sales said that the award is a testament to DOST XI’s strong commitment to delivering excellent Science, Engineering, Technology, and Innovation services to the people.
“More than the recognition itself, we give due regard to what the award exemplifies and that is our endless zeal to improve our operations and services so we can continue to make a lasting impact to the communities through Science and Technology,” he added.
