Each student received a YES Award medal of distinction given by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) which signifies a high regard for excellence and competitiveness through the distinguished achievements of young Filipinos in international science and math competitions.

DOST XI Regional Director, Dr. Anthony C. Sales conferred two (2) students from the Ateneo de Davao University namely, Ms. Julianne Faye Bonifacio and Ms. Mary Grace Espino who won Bronze medal during the Environmental Green Cup Search for Math Wizards 2013 and 2013 Math International Asia Cup held in HongKong on July 24-28, 2013.  Three (3) students from the Philippine Science High School, namely Ms. Guinevere Soria, Mr. Junifer Sombilon Jr., and Mr. Jose Alfonso Ignacio K. Mirabueno were conferred.  Ms. Soria and Mr. Sombilon both won Bronze medals during the 2013 International Mathematics Competition (IMC) on August 2-5, 2013 at Singapore.  While Mr. Mirabueno won Silver medals during the Asia Inter-Cities Teenagers Mathematics Olympiad (AITMO) 2013 (Team Category) in Indonesia on December 26-30, 2013 and during the Bulgaria International Mathematics Competition (BIMC) in Bulgaria on June 30- July 6, 2013.  Another Bronze medal was attained by Mr. Mirabueno during the AITMO 2013 (Group Category).  Another two (2) students from Precious International School of Davao namely, Ms. Erica Nicole S. Saljay and Ms. Clarissa Lois Dalian were conferred.  Ms. Saljay won Bronze medals during the 2013 Math International Asia Cup, “king of Math” International Mathematics Contest 2013, and Environmental Green Cup Search for Math Wizards 2013 all held at HongKong on July 24-28, 2013.  Ms. Dalian, on the other hand, won Bronze medal during the 2013 China Girls Mathematical Olympiad (CGMO) on August 10-15, 2013 in China.

The awardees received their YES awards during their respective school recognition days.
