Calling all inventors, innovators and creative researchers alike!

The DOST XI is now accepting entries for the upcoming Regional Invention Contest and Exhibits (RICE). With this year’s theme: “Science for the People: Inventions and Innovations for Sustainable Development”, RICE is a nationwide activity conducted in different regions to recognize the indispensability of the Filipino inventors to the Philippine society and national economic development.

The competition is open for both the public and private sector Filipino inventors and researchers residing within the region. Inventors may qualify in five categories, such as the Tuklas Award for the most outstanding invention, Outstanding Utility Model, Outstanding Industrial Design, Likha Award for the most outstanding research and development (R&D) of a technology, and Sibol Award for the most creative research in high school and college levels.

The regional competition slated on October 28-30, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center, Davao City serves as the qualifying round for the National Invention Contest and Exhibits (NICE) in 2020. This year’s RICE will be simultaneously conducted with the Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) 2019.
