There’s no stopping the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in staging the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) celebration in Davao Region despite the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The NSTW is an annual celebration that highlights the significant contributions of science and technology to national development and has become a platform for heralding S&T advocacy in the country. 

This year, DOST XI will be hosting various online activities in line with this year’s theme “Agham at Teknolohiya: Sandigan ng Kalusugan, Kaayusan, Kabuhayan, at Kinabukasan”, which aims to highlight the power and contribution of Science, Technology and Innovation in the four areas.

The week-long celebration will kickstart with the online launching of Davao Regional Science and Technology Week Virtual Exhibit which will be held on December 7, 2020 at 9:00 A.M.

National and international experts from the different offices will be sharing their knowledge and expertise on the said topics. The webinars will be open for the public and will be conducted through Zoom and will be aired through Facebook Live Stream. 

Two competitions namely, Science in Motion Short Film Competition (open to all Dabawenyo High School and College Students) and SciTech Snaps Photo Contest (open to all Dabawenyos) are likewise hosted as part of the week-long celebration. Winners of the competitions will receive cash prizes and certificates.
