The R & D Program

The Food Processing Innovation Center – Davao is now accepting Food Research and Development (R&D) proposals for CY 2021 funding support, in pursuit of promoting local food research that can help MSMEs in the food industry to improve the quality of their existing products and/or develop and commercialize new ones: thereby increasing their competitiveness in local and export markets. This program is DOST’s contribution to the Regional Inclusive Innovation Cluster initiatives in Davao Region.

Project Duration: February 2021-December 2021

How to Avail

This program is open to all interested SUC faculty and student researchers.  Researchers should develop 2 to 3 products on the following priority areas preferably using the FPIC-Davao HITS equipment namely: spray dryer, vacuum fryer, and cabinet dryer.

  • Functional foods/Processed fruits
  • Food products utilizing the abundant resources found in Davao region
  • Market/Industry driven food products

Interested proponents are required to submit capsule proposals using DOST form 1B which can be downloaded at https://bit.ly/3oTMle1. This should include the following:

  • Project Title
  • Rationale/Significance
  • Objectives
  • Methodology
  • Expected Output
  • Line Item Budget

A funding support of a maximum of P 100,000 will be provided through the Food Processing Innovation Center – Davao.
