The Association of Regional Executives of National Agencies in Region XI (ARENA XI) continued its COVID 19 vaccination drive to A4 (essential front-liners) priority group as it resumed its second week of vaccination rollout for government employees last July 7-9, 2021, in the University of the Philippines Mindanao (UP Mindanao), University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP)-Obrero Campus, and Police Regional Office XI in Camp Catitipan vaccination sites.
With a week-long target of 3,000 government employees, 1200 doses were administered in USEP-Obrero campus, 800 doses were allocated in UP Mindanao, and 1000 doses were divided among PNP personnel and other ARENA XI members in the PNP Camp Catitipan site.
This initiative was led by ARENA XI President and DOST XI Regional Director Dr. Anthony C. Sales, CESO III in partnership with the Office of Davao City Administrator, Davao City Health Office, Department of Health Region XI (DOH XI), UP Mindanao, USEP-Obrero, and PNP XI.
With the objective of vaccinating an estimated 15,000 government employees in Davao City, ARENA XI has already vaccinated a total of 5,000 government employees who received their first dose of COVID 19 Sinovac vaccine since it started its roll-out last June 30, 2021.
ARENA XI built on the “bayanihan” concept during the roll-out as volunteers from different government agencies and medical professionals contributed and shared necessary resources and workforce needed in the vaccination sites.
“Thank you to all healthcare professionals and volunteers who shared their time, resources, and talents during the vaccination program as we fulfill our responsibility in supporting the national and local governments’ goal in achieving herd immunity”, said Dr. Sales.
Dr. Sales added that ARENA XI will be waiting for the next batch of vaccines, and once new doses arrive, the rollout will resume.
