With the mission to inspire and transform communities through Science, Engineering, Technology, and Innovation, the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office XI (DOST XI) through the Davao Region Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technologies Research and Development Consortium (DRIEERDC) showed support during the conduct of the 12th Engineering Congress at the Malayan Colleges Mindanao, Davao City last April 28-29, 2022.
The Engineering Congress is an inter-school event organized by the Council of Deans for Engineering Education XI (CoDEE-XI), in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education XI and DOST XI, to promote the engineering field in Davao region.
With the theme, “Sustainable Innovations and Technology for Industry 4.0,” the event highlighted various project outputs of engineering students from different schools.
Despite the ongoing pandemic, 13 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from all over Davao region participated in the two-day event, namely: Ateneo de Davao University, Cor Jesu College, Davao Del Sur State College, Davao Oriental State College, Holy Cross of Davao College, Jose Maria College, Malayan Colleges Mindanao, MATS College of Technology, University of Mindanao – Digos City, University of Mindanao – Tagum City, University of Mindanao – Main Campus, University of Southeastern Philippines, and the University of the Immaculate Conception.
Dr. Anthony C. Sales, Regional Director of DOST XI, extended his message of support and highlighted the significant roles of students as future engineers of the country towards the advancement of Science and Technology.
The event highlighted various inter-school competitions such as Scientific Research Poster Competition, Project Prototype Competition, Pitching Competition, Tower Building Competition, Short Video Competition (Smart Manufacturing), E-Sports, Engineering Got Talent, and Quiz bowl.
Towards the end of the event, the organizers were able to publish a compendium of abstracts consolidating all the projects presented by the students.
Below is the list of the winners for each competition.
