The R & D Program

The Food Processing Innovation Center – Davao is now accepting Food Research and Development (R&D) proposals for CY 2021 funding support, in pursuit of promoting local food research that can help MSMEs in the food industry to improve the quality of their existing products and/or develop and commercialize new ones: thereby increasing their competitiveness in local and export markets. This program is DOST’s contribution to the Regional Inclusive Innovation Cluster initiatives in Davao Region.

The DigiHub FabLab Davao bagged 3rd Place in the Fabsiklaban Competition of the Fabrication Festival 4 (FabFest 4) hosted by the Department of Trade and Industry Region 7. 

Focused on the theme, “Fabricating the New Normal”, DigiHub’s entry features the “Mirror Board”, an innovative device fabricated by the team to provide the teachers or instructors a tool that can help them adapt the new way of conducting their classes which are now done online.

RHRDC Call for proposal

The Regional Health Research and Development Consortium XI (RHRDC XI) is now accepting Health Research and Development proposals for CY 2021 funding support. This is made possible through a funding support from the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD).

Through the DOST Local Grants-In-Aid Program known as Community Empowerment through Science & Technology (CEST) the Demolok Valley National High School Community Association received one (1) unit Industrial Food Dehydrator. It was turned over on December 10, 2020 by the Provincial S&T Director, Ms. Maria Victoria Dado together with the SPAMAST President, Dr. Ruth Lucero to the school’s and PTA officials headed by Ms. Josie Dela Cruz, the school head. The grant will lead an aspiring endeavor not just in honing the skills and interest of the students but also in improving the way of life of the indigenous community of Demolok Valley.

Davao Occidental- After a series of consultative meetings and revisions, the Davao Occidental Research for Development Agenda (DORDA) for 2020-2025 was already finalized and turned over to the Provincial Local Government of Davao Occidental on December 11, 2020 at the VIP Room of the Malita Gym, Davao Occidental. The province was the first in the Davao Region to craft its Research for Development (R4D) Agenda addressing the gaps and problems in the province.
