The Department of Science and Technology XI co-hosted the BIMP-EAGA International Halal Congress with the theme “Integrating HEIs in the Halal Value Chain” on March 1-3, 2016 at the Apo View Hotel, Davao City. The event is done in partnership with Mindanao Development Authority, University of Southern Mindanao and the Department of Agriculture Regional Offices XI and XII.
DOST XI to certify 8,170 BEIs in Davao Region for the May 2016 Polls
Twenty-five certifiers from the Department of Science and Technology XI were deployed for the whole month of March 2016 to conduct the certification program of boards of election inspectors (BEIs) in the May 9 national and local polls.

DOST XI Awards Southern Mindanao Inventions
Fourteen (14) out of fifty seven (57) entries from Southern Mindanao won the top prizes during the 2015 Regional Invention Contest and Exhibit (RICE 2015) and were awarded by the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office No. XI on October 3, 2015 during the RICE 2015 award rites at NCCC Mall, Matina, Davao City.
Health on the Go: DOST XI makes room for traveling science exhibits
Tugbok, Davao City- Janelle wakes up early for her class at Values School in Matina, Davao City. But today is different from her usual day as she and her classmates are on their way to visit the Health On The Go, a traveling exhibit sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), together with the Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology (PFST), and United Laboratory.
The exhibit featuresinteractive health and nutrition learning displays to elementary students, and Janelle could not contain her excitement early in the day as the grade six student rushed inside the exhibit hall. They were greeted by various contraptions and digital displays mimicking science phenomena and practical learning materials that she can easily relate with.
