The Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute officially held the in-person qualifying examination for the Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) applicants nationwide last August 27, 2022. 

The qualifying examination is the first face-to-face exam held since the COVID-19 pandemic that created economic and social disruption across the world. 

The residents of Barangay Mapula in Paquibato District availed of various free medical services and received food packs in a community outreach hosted by the Department of Science and Technology Region XI (DOST XI) in collaboration with Davao City’s Health Office and the Philippine Army. 

The Mindanao Natural Language Processing (MinNa LProc) Research and Development Laboratory, funded by the Department of Science and Technology Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) and managed by the University of Immaculate Concepcion (UIC), showcased various projects developed in the laboratory aimed at preserving the local languages in Davao region and Mindanao. 

The Department of Science and Technology Region XI intensified its efforts to highlight the importance of getting vaccinated with booster shots through an in-house vaccination drive for its employees and their dependents last August 18, 2022.

  

The University of Mindanao (UM) officially inaugurates the Center of Green Nanotechnology Innovations for Environmental Solutions (CGNIES), the first nanotechnology center in Mindanao funded by the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) through the Infrastructure Development Program (IDP).
